ATTENDANCE:
Students are expected to attend lessons for the full academic year (September 1 - June 8).
Students should arrive on time for lessons, bringing all necessary materials and music.
SUMMER LESSONS:
Lessons are offered during the summer (June 15 - August 31).
Students can choose to take weekly or bi-weekly lessons.
MAKEUP LESSONS:
Absences due to illness, accident, or family emergency are excused if the teacher is notified at least 24 hours in advance.
Lessons missed due to family vacations are excused if notice is given at least a month in advance.
Students are responsible for signing up for a makeup lesson, but makeup lessons are subject to the teacher's availability.
Group lessons cannot be rescheduled.
TEACHER ABSENCES:
The teacher may miss lessons due to illness or professional commitments.
The teacher may reschedule the lesson.
PRACTICE:
The piano should be located in a quiet room away from distractions.
Students are required to practice a minimum of five days per week and meet the minimum practice time determined by the teacher.
LESSON TERMINATION:
Students may be asked to discontinue lessons at the end of a semester if they have excessive absences or unprepared lessons, at the teacher's discretion.
Lessons may also be terminated for unpaid tuition.
TUITION AND PAYMENT:
Students can pay tuition monthly (due at the first lesson of the month).
Students should inform the teacher of their preferred payment method at the first lesson.
Both cash and Venmo are accepted.
Unexcused absences may not receive credit/reimbursement, at the teacher's discretion.
Pre-paid tuition for an excused absence will be applied to the following month's lesson.
Students are responsible for purchasing all music books and materials.
The teacher reserves the right to increase fees at the start of each new teaching year.
PARENT PARTICIPATION:
Parents are encouraged to quietly observe lessons once a month, if desired.
The teacher may ask parents not to attend if their presence alters the quality of the lesson.
Parents are encouraged to support and participate in their child's piano practice at home.
OFFICE HOURS:
The teacher may not be able to discuss student progress with parents before or after the lesson due to other scheduled lessons.
Parents should call or schedule an appointment with the teacher if they have concerns or questions.
